Golden Shield Honors

Mothers Against Drunk Driving | Georgia State Office

Each year, Mothers Against Drunk Driving Georgia state office (MADD Georgia) hosts the Statewide Law Enforcement Recognition Banquet to honor officers, law enforcement agencies, organizations, and individuals that make outstanding contributions throughout the year to the abatement of drunk driving. Since 2009 (15 years), Behave has worked with the event’s committee to brand the awards ceremony, streamline the applications process, and produce a formal awards show.

Behave suggested developing a brand for the awards to transition from a generic event to an identifiable brand that embodied the contribution of law enforcement to MADD’s mission. This resulted in naming the Law Enforcement Recognition Banquet, the Golden Shield Honors. Behave designed the original logo for use on the certificates, plaques, programs, banners and other awards-related collateral materials in 2009. This past year, Behave refreshed the logo applying Mothers Against Drunk Driving’s latest style guide from national headquarters, to create a complimentary brand incorporating the official fonts, colors, and icon elements.

Additionally, Behave developed online nominations to streamline submissions; coordinated the judging process, produced all digital and print materials, managed venues and other vendors for event execution. Each year, Behave produces an original awards show to bring esteem to the awards ceremony through use of stunning audio/visual presentations attended by nearly 600 guests. Additional responsibilities include script development, talent coordination, fallen officers tribute, and securing presenters. Special appearances and presentations have been made by Governor Nathan Deal, Atlanta Falcon’s owner Arthur Blank, Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders, and Freddy the Falcon. In 2020, the in-person event was cancelled due to COVID-19. Behave worked with the organization to produce a virtual event enabling them to still give honor to Georgia’s finest!
